Family betrayal and, especially, family estrangement are not openly talked about, yet family estrangement is a silent epidemic that affects millions of people. The reason I refer to it as a silent epidemic is that so few people are willing to talk about their estrangement from a family member because of the stigma associated with it. Society views estrangement as taboo. However, I’m here to break the silence and share with listeners my personal experience with family betrayal and estrangement. In doing so, I hope this weekly serial podcast will help listeners deal with their own family betrayals and estrangements while helping myself at the same time as I navigate the healing process.
